The History of the DekaBank Group
The Historical Archive in the Trianon, our corporate headquarters in Frankfurt, is probably the only German corporate archive housed in a bank vault. Our archive was established in 2003 and it is here that we administer all documents relevant to the historical development of our company. Beyond its collection activities, however, the Historical Archive sees itself primarily as an information service provider that conducts research for our employees and makes data and historical facts available quickly and easily; the archive thus also contributes to legal certainty.

Documents Spanning Ninety Years
Our historical legacy takes up more than 300 meters of shelf space. It is here that documents concerning the Deutsche Girozentrale - Deutsche Kommunalbank (DGZ, German Central Giro Association - German Municipal Bank), the Deutsche Kapitalanlagegesellschaft (Deka, German Investment Trust), the Deutsche Sparkassen-Immobilien-Anlage-Gesellschaft (Despa, German Savings Bank-Real Estate-Investment Company), and the Deutsche Landesbankenzentrale (DLZ, German Regional Bank Headquarters) can be found. The oldest documents date to 1918, the founding year of the Deutsche Girozentrale.

Lively Presentation of History
DekaBank’s Historical Archive seeks a lively presentation of history through its holdings. It is our aim to bring our history to life for our employees and visitors and communicate the development of DekaBank as part of Sparkassen (savings banks) history.
