Breaching the Gap Between Theory and Practice

Sponsorship of scholarship is an important component of DekaBank’s program of social commitment. We want to further develop the transfer of knowledge between theory and practice and at the same time promote training, research, and continued academic education.

Endowed Professorships

We are funding one endowed chair each at the schools of economics at the universities of Bamberg (in financial controlling) and Passau (in business administration) for a period of five years. During this time we will bear the costs for the professorship, assistants, and materials. Our involvement is closely linked to the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe’s (Savings Banks Finance Group) sponsorship of scholarship; for example, in cooperation with Helaba we are funding an endowed professorship of civil, business and banking law at the Institute for Law and Finance in Frankfurt.

Research Projects

In cooperation with the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe’s sponsorship of scholarship we are currently supporting the “Dezentrale Verbundsysteme” (Decentralized Integrated Systems) research project, a joint study of chairs Dr. Reinhard Schmidt and Dr. Marcel Tyrell (Goethe-Universität) and Dr. Andreas Hackethal (EBS).
