Golfing for a good cause
The DekaBank Group is among the biggest sponsors of golf in Germany. We support more than 300 high-caliber events throughout the golf season as part of our wide-ranging social responsibility program. With our own tournament series, the Deka Golf Cup, and the sponsorship of charity tournaments in support of German cancer societies Deutsche Krebshilfe/Deutsche KinderKrebshilfe (German Cancer Aid/Children's Cancer Aid) we continue to contribute to the growing popularity of this "green sport."

Sparkasse Golf Tournament
From Golf Club an der Schlei in Schleswig-Holstein to Golfclub Owingen-Überlingen on Lake Constance, DekaBank is present at many golf competitions throughout Germany. Each year, it is involved in around 150 amateur tournaments that Sparkasse banks organise for their clients.

Deka Golf Cup
Our own client tournament series, the Deka Golf-Cup, is highly popular and will be held for the eighth consecutive year in 2010. More than 8,000 golfers will once again participate in around 70 Sparkasse tournaments across Germany this year. Their goal is the big finale held on Sylt from 23 to 26 September 2010 on the links course at Golfclub Budersand. The prize for the winners of the men’s and women’s tournaments is a Pro-Am spot in the 2011 BMW International Open.

Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe Olympia-Partner Deutschland

Sponsorship of the Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund (DOSB, German Olympic Sports Federation)
As the largest non-governmental sponsor of sports in Germany, the institutions that make up the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe (Savings Banks Finance Group) provide approximately 78 million euros annually for the promotion of sports. Since January 2008 the Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe has been one of the DOSB's partners for the Olympics. The partnership ranges from popular sports to youth sports to elite sports. The components of this cooperation are: involvement as partner for the Olympics, sponsorship of the Deutsches Sportabzeichen (The German Sports Badge), and the support of elite sports schools. The Sparkassen-Finanzgruppe is the first DOSB partner to participate in all three funding areas at the same time.
